Illinois Chicago dominated action in their CIT opener getting past Saint Francis by a final of 84-61. The Flames were the third best team in the Horizon this season behind quality squads Northern Kentucky and Wright State, standing 18-15 overall and 12-6 in conference. UIC was trending in a positive direction towards the end of the regular season having a streak winning 9 of 10 games, and on the year this group has been steady ranking 126th in the nation in scoring and 175th in total defense.

Austin Peay found themselves in a similar spot over in the OVC standing in third place behind the likes of quality opponents Belmont and Murray State. The Governors snuck up on their opponents in the OVC this season going 19-14 overall and 12-6 in conference. In their CIT opener the Governors got past UL Monroe by a final of 80-66. Austin Peay has also been about average in the nation standing 177th in scoring and 153rd in total defense.

This should be an interesting matchup between two squads that have had similar amounts of success this season coming out of the Horizon and OVC respectively. We like the growth UIC has shown down the stretch of the season and feel the Flames are the better value getting the points.
