Loyola Chicago has had a lot of success in the NCAA tournament implementing their grind it out half court defensive style getting through the likes of Miami, Tennessee, Nevada, and K-State. Loyola Chicago’s 4 tournament wins have all come against solid competition, but the Ramblers have yet to face the more elite teams in the Big Dance. This is another one of those potentially manageable type of matchups for the Ramblers going against another opponent that’s lacking in terms of NBA level talent, but Michigan won’t make things easy on Loyola Chicago. Michigan plays arguably a better version of the style the Ramblers like to implement putting up similar numbers to Loyola Chicago against a tougher overall slate. Michigan has also had a somewhat manageable path to the Final Four getting past the likes of Montana, Houston, Texas A&M, and Florida State. This has competitive lower scoring matchup written all over it between two teams that love to play out of the half court. We expect a competitive matchup with points coming at a premium, but at the end of the day Michigan has the coaching and talent to put an end to the Ramblers’ run and we like the Wolverines to grab the win and cover.
